Man charged with hit-and-run, a third-degree felony, and then released from the Columbia County jail on $5,000 bond.
The man, truck driver Juan Carlos Robles-Figueredo, 46, of Miami, was driving north on I-75 at about 12:20 a.m., and his semitrailer went onto the roadway edge as it passed by the tow truck and its operator, Charles Griffis, of Lake City, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
Robles-Figueredo was arrested early sunday after clipping a 25-year-old man who was on the side of the highway attempting to load a vehicle on a tow truck. The victim, Griffis, was taken to Shands Lake Shore Regional Medical Center in serious condition.
